My husband and I both believed in waiting until we got married, but that didn’t mean that we didn’t have any fun with each other when we were dating. While we were both in college, we used to have phone sex. We would describe what we saw doing together in our mind’s eye. This got a little complicated, trying to find times when both our roommates were asleep or when we were both in the mood. I mean, it takes a little bit of effort and guts to talk dirty on the phone. At first, we both felt a little silly and embarrassed, but once we got started, it got easier and finally unstoppable. This became such a routine, though, that, once we got married, the running commentary hasn’t stopped. Being so verbal while we are intimate makes it a little awkward at times.
